Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Where can anti-wrinkle injections be used?

Anti-wrinkle injections primarily work but using a prescription-only medication called 'botulinium toxin' to relax underlying facial muscles.

There are many different indications for using anti-wrinkle treatments, and not all of them are actually to soften wrinkles! In addition relaxing muscle contractions there is also an effect on the sweat glands and oil prodcution in the skin. This means that this treatment can also help reduce excessive sweating and also improves overlying skin texture.

Here are the main areas that can be treated using this treatment modality, each would be counted as a single area*:

Upper Face:

Forhead lines

Frown lines

Lines around the eyes (aka Crow's Feet)

Brow lift

Lower Face:

Downturned corners of the mouth

Chin dimples

Upper lip - this can treat upper lip lines & also enchance upper lip volume appearence

Jaw muscle (masseter)** - this can be used to treat jaw tension and slim the lower face

Neck:

Platysmal bands** - the creation of what we call 'jowls' is often as a result of a thin sheet like muscle called the platysma that pulls down over the lower face. Relaxation of the platysma muscle will reduce the appearence of jowls creating a more defined jawline.

Underarms:

Hyperhidrosis** - aka excessive sweating, utilising the effect of botulinum toxin to reduce the action of the sweat glands in the skin.

*Treatments with ** are not included as an 'area' and must be purchased as an induvidual seperate treatment.

What if I am not sure which treatment to book?

If you have never had this treatment before we would advise that you first book a medical aesthetics consultation so that we can reccomend if this is the right treatment option for you and run through the details of this treatment in person.

If you have had anti-wrinkle treatments before and you know how many areas you can book directly for the number of areas you require, we will of course include an assessment on the day and discuss if this remains the best treatment option for you.
